dallas - lucy's moms on main

A bit back, Michael and I ventured to a great little hole-in-the-wall called Lucy's Moms on Main, in Aubrey, Texas.  My best friend and her family took us there for a late breakfast and did we ever enjoy.
Superbly delicious and very affordable, I highly recommend to anyone in the area!

Be aware.
It's been a long time since I've seen servings this big.
And I can eat, people.
But, these were bonkers-big servings.
Like enough for a grown man to only eat half.
Be aware.

We got:
French toast platter: three slices of golden fried country bread, three scrambled eggs, three bacon strips.
We gave it:
A+, super tasty and covered with powdered sugar...the way French toast should be!  And the bacon was crispy.  Thank goodness.

We got:
Mom's breakfast platter - small (for a grown man, 6'3", 240...and he had leftovers!): two scrambled eggs, Mom's potatoes, one sausage patty, one biscuit and gravy
We gave it:
A++, those "Mom's potatoes" are out. of. this. world.  Biscuit, homemade....eggs, light and fluffy...gravy, creamy.

We got:
Pancake platter: three buttermilk pancakes, three scrambled eggs, two sausage patties
We gave it:
A, very tasty and huge portions!
But, see, the thing here is the pancake toppings.  There is a counter of crazy toppings like gummy bears and chocolate chips.....and m&ms!

We got:
a slice of chocolate cake!
We gave it:
A-, very rich (you could eat about a quarter) and the buttercream was so-so.
But.
For first time customers (such as, myself), it was free!
Free slice-o-cake.
Not too shabby.
