lately...

we've been crazy busy this month with lots of trips and travel but we managed to squeeze in some "normal" time too!
hopefully may will see a slow down while the weather warms up!

sandy baby hand

i love this kid's smiles :)

"i bring you allllll the yellow flowers, mommy!"
....and people wonder why i want another boy....

a yellow wonderland

tomato soup for days

how to boil perfect hard-boiled FARM FRESH days:
bring a saucepan of water to a boil.
lower eggs in and boil for 15 minutes.
remove to ice water bath and peel immediately.
enjoy!

cleaning out the spring garden to make way for the summer garden!

bulldozing with daddy!

ready for garden work!

hatching new chicks!

and transferring them to the chick coop!

making fresh venison sausage!
look at that!
i tilted the pan off the burner and still no fat run-off off the fresh sausage!

a little tuckered out after a long morning of planting summer squash and peas!

things are looking green!

this is pretty much all i can see of gabe when we are in the car.
one solitary curl.

i don't even know.

daddy killed a hog!
hogs are a huge nuisance to a farm and out of this 120 pound pig, we got about 60 pounds of good meat!
does this count as free-range?? :)

date night with the four month bump!

starting him early...

we tried blueberry eggs...
all the rage with fitness buffs, blueberry eggs are 1 mashed banana, 2 eggs scrambled in, then a handful of blueberries and a dash of cinnamon when they are almost done. and a sprinkle of almonds on top! it does taste a bit like french toast and my boys loved it!

finding beautiful beetles.

towards the end of the month, we took a trip to dallas for a birthday party and as usual, the boys were excellent travelers...

gaumy has the best geese to watch

nothing bundt cakes!

meanwhile, jack stayed home with daddy and apparently had a blast!

another great month!
