homeschool wrap-up: October!

we had another great month in homeschool!
we focused on two specific units this month, Rome and Halloween!
i already shared our fun Halloween crafts and school projects but enjoy our pictures from this month!

roman feast!
we lounged on pillows and dressed up in togas!
we had braised venison, roman bread, pomegranates, figs, dates, grapes, olives, asparagus, artichokes, cheeses, and wine!
and an authentic roman cheesecake for dessert!

our family gets. into. it.
:)

we made gladiator shields, built a roman aqueduct with building blocks, and painted these golden "coins" for our roman market day

working on our geography...jack is learning but mv knows where most of africa/asia/europe is now!

still plugging along with our letters review

numbers review.
mv on top and jack on bottom

thank you, GMa, for the great present!

these kids are loving their kid yoga!
we started off this year with a kids' workout video but then i quickly realized that they get plenty of exercise running around this farm of ours so i switched them to yoga and they absolutely love it! i'm happy to see them getting good stretches in and some nice, quiet, focus time.
i just wish their was a kids' version of the holy yoga that i do!

crawfish dissection in cc class!

some of the girls were a bit squeamish but we got right in there ;)

  1. What a fun month y'all had! I love the science experiments, especially deconstructing an owl pellet! What a learning experience for them. And I'm glad the number puzzle is a hit. Another great post and great month in homeschooling :)
